B2B to Provide Series of Briefings with Microsoft and
Wake Forest University on “The Unified Campus”

Atlanta, Georgia - December 1, 2006 - B2B Technologies, an Atlanta-based consulting organization specializing in the deployment of Microsoft Technologies, today announced a series of briefings that discuss how Universities and larger K-12 school systems are incorporating wireless technologies in support of their schools.

The 2006 calendar year became a tipping point for many educational institutions in their review and serious consideration of newer wireless technologies to increase collaboration within and among their schools. “Many school systems stopped short by only delivering wireless internet capabilities to the local campus”, said Ken Guthrie, a director with B2B Technologies and also an adjunct professor in Strategic Business Communications in the MBA program at Georgia State University. “This approach presupposed this type of communication would satisfy the majority, if not all, of their needs. Unfortunately, they did not see the rapid and ubiquitous use and variety of wireless devices that have appeared over the past 24 months.”

Microsoft Corporation has been instrumental in supporting newer extensions of their technologies to these devices. The Win Mobile 5 operating system, along with versions of their popular Office Products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, are now standard applications on many, if not most, of the new Pocket PC’s and SmartPhones.

Educational Institutions of all sizes have determined that the best way to collaborate - teacher-to-teacher, teacher-to-student, and student-to-student, is to use all communication channels available. This means traditional in-class studies, computer assisted remote-learning, and Internet collaboration sites. It also means they must support all of the physical devices that can touch these teaching facilities including the various wireless devices.

B2B, Microsoft, and Wake Forest have led the way in exploring the various ways these devices can be used and will share how the implementation of these systems, applications, and equipment can create a truly wireless campus for learning. Please see the Microsoft site for registration or look for the invitation in the mail. For this series, the briefings will be held in North Carolina and Florida during January 2007.
