B2B Technologies Delivers New Portal for Mohawk Corporation - World’s Largest Manufacturer of Floor Covering

Atlanta, Georgia - July 3, 2007 - Anxious to provide an easier method to maintain a global portal for their various sales and distribution channels, in July, 2006, Mohawk Corporation selected B2B Technologies to develop a new solution. Although the latest version of Microsoft’s SharePoint platform was still in Beta release, B2B was asked to use that version as the basis for the new portal. The site would be the primary touch point for all of Mohawk’s commercial accounts ranging from small entrepreneurial companies to some of the world’s largest retailers as Home Depot and Lowes.

The first release of the new MohawkToday.com site was made available to the sales and marketing personnel in late October 2007; just in time for a national road show. From this starting point, B2B continued to enhance the application through the spring of 2007 when it was made available globally. Of course the portal was migrated to MOSS 2007 just as soon as Microsoft made the final production release available. And, although there were some changes made to the application by Microsoft that caused some “tweaking” of the original implementation, B2B was able to have the site up and going in a matter of days.

The current site now includes all types of media and collateral to support any aspect of marketing and sales ranging from videos of the latest consumer advertisements, product and installation guides, to photographs of current and future products. Based on the success of this site, Mohawk continues to look for ways to create a more productive experience for not only their commercial clients, but for all clients.
