Web Brings Statewide Conservation Community Together
B2B Tech Helps Deliver A New On-Line Community For The Georgia Conservancy
ATLANTA, GA, February 14, 2001 – Although The Georgia Conservancy (TGC) had a
Web site, they knew it was time for a major upgrade. Instead of just stating the
group’s mission, they wanted the site to play an active role in expanding the
membership base and bringing members together to achieve the group’s goals.
Established in 1967, TGC dedicates itself to the stewardship of Georgia’s
natural resources. To upgrade their site, they turned to best-of-breed
specialists Merge Design and B2B Technologies.
Merge Design created the site’s theme, with separate pages dedicated to each
of the Conservancy’s primary areas of focus: air quality, water quality, natural
areas, smart growth, and coastal issues.
B2B Tech made the site interactive by adding feedback polls, online event
registration, and the ability to join, renew and make contributions to the group
online. Since TGC wanted to keep the site fresh, B2B Tech developed a
specialized content management feature. Staff members at the Conservancy can now
maintain and update information on the site themselves, without support from
Merge Design or B2B Tech.
"Right after the new site’s launch, we got a call from a corporate donor who
was very impressed, and membership response has been outstanding," said Grace
Trimble, TGC communications director. Regarding B2B Tech’s work on the project,
Grace said, "Everything happened when you said it would happen in spite of the
accelerated schedule.”"

articles almost daily, so the site’s alive and growing. The new site looks
