Working in the commercial software industry in 1997, a trio of Atlanta-based software experts built a series of Web-based applications that enabled leading companies, such as Heineken USA, to enter the brave new world of business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce. These software experts shared a vision - to create a professional services company devoted to helping companies improve their operations through the innovative use of Internet technology.
That vision guided the trio as they founded B2B Technologies, a company dedicated to being:
- Obsessed with making customers successful;
- Technical experts on the Microsoft platform; and
- Domain experts in a few selected vertical markets.
Initially, the company concentrated on providing supply chain and e-commerce solutions for manufacturing companies. Today, that specialization continues to be an important vertical focus. Over time, however, B2B amassed significant expertise in two additional vertical markets, prompting its expansion into financial services and education.
B2B Technologies leverages its business acumen and technology expertise to create and deliver solutions that work as promised, delivering bottom-line value to the companies and organizations that use them. As a result of the founders' laser focus on customer satisfaction, B2B Technologies has seen revenues grow by over 500% during the last five years, while maintaining a 100 percent customer satisfaction record.
A privately held company, B2B Technologies has achieved all of these strong business results without outside funding.
And whatever happened to that original e-commerce project for Heineken USA? Gartner named it the best B2B e-commerce project of 1997, and everyone on the Heineken project team was promoted!
